9/11 Anti-war demonstration, Atlanta, 2001

The Saturday after the terrorist attack of 9/11 on America, there was an anti-war demonstration in downtown Atlanta, near Woodruff Park in Five Points. Which is to say, less than a week after the military and financial centers of our nation were struck with fuel-laden airliners, hijacked by jihadi suicide killers, while the rubble was still smoking and the dead were still being tallied, a few dozen peaceniks gathered to proclaim their opposition to everything America had done and might do, even more stridently than before.

I actually went hoping to participate in a counter-demonstration, but they were late in showing up. So I roamed through this crowd, snapping pictures. I left when the demo began in earnest, with the speakers beginning to harangue the crowd.
